We regret to inform you that we have canceled this year’s Annual Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium’s Scientific Conference, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday May 28, 2020 at the University of Arizona.
We made this decision after extensive consideration due to the rapidly growing COVID-19 crisis, the importance of protecting the health of you and your loved ones, the critical role of social distancing in the effort to reduce the number of people who will be infected, and uncertainties about how long these risk mitigation strategies will be needed. We apologize for the inconvenience, but hope you understand. Please refer to https://www.cdc.gov to see how the CDC is responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.
All abstracts, progress reports, and other materials contained in our Annual Scientific Report will still be compiled, distributed and made available online, and the link will be sent to each of you. Please feel free to complete the abstract submittal process if you have not done so, and please feel free to note that abstract on your CV as an ”Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium 2020 Abstract.”
We will explore opportunities for a smaller group of young investigators and other investigators to meet and present their findings later this year, after the risks and social distancing requirements have sufficiently abated—and we will keep you informed as soon as we have more information.
We are grateful to all who so faithfully contribute their tremendous talents and capacities in the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium—and we will be thinking of you, your family and friends as we face the current crisis together.
