Director/Commissioner, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute
David Jerman is the Consortia Director of the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, the Administrative Director of the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium, and a Board Member of the Arizona Biomedical Research Commission, to which he was appointed by Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano.
Mr. Jerman, a co-founder of the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium in 1998, negotiated the first Memorandum of Understanding with its original seven statewide institutional members, and later incorporated the Consortium as a 501C3 which now supports more than 120 researchers. He pioneered the administrative statewide infrastructure of the Consortium and is responsible for all Arizona Department of Health Services and Arizona Legislative relations. He serves as the Consortium’s designated lobbyist, administrative director, and secretary treasurer. The Consortium Board of Directors is comprised of the chief executive officers and senior research officers of the seven member-institutions.
Mr. Jerman works closely with Dr. Eric Reiman, Executive Director of the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and Director of the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium, to support the shared scientific and collaborative goals of these two organizations. He works closely with Banner Alzheimer’s Institute leaders and financial managers to ensure the Institute’s fiscal integrity, and with Board members, administrators and researchers from each of the participating institutions to help ensure the Consortium’s operational productivity, fiscal accountability, and success. Mr. Jerman is the former CEO of Frontier Scientific, a discovery chemicals company with offices in the U.S., England, and Japan; and the past President and Chief Operating Officer of Bankers Consulting. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Utah with an MBA in Finance, a B.S. in Accounting, a B.S. in Political Science and Public Policy, and is a member of the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (Colorado Certificate #10345 inactive status, non-practicing in Arizona).
