The Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium and the Arizona Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center provide a groundbreaking way for scientists and researchers to work together and make a deep community impact in the effort to end this disease.
The Arizona Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) is one of 31 ADRCs nationwide, funded by the National Institute on Aging. It offers a variety of programs, resources and research studies for the Arizona community including for:
- People who have questions about memory and thinking challenges and concerns
- Family members and caregivers of people with dementia or related memory concerns
- Healthy adults who want to volunteer for studies on the human brain
Together, we also help to improve care for patients and their families, and to gather community support from healthy people who are not yet affected by memory challenges.
Our member institutions are strategically positioned across the state, providing easy access for all communities. Together we:
- Help to improve care for patients and their families
- Gather community support from healthy people who are not yet affected by memory challenges
- Build new research, clinical and education programs in partnership with individuals, organizations and communities
- Train the next generation of researchers and clinicians
- Reach out to healthy people, those with memory challenges, and family caregivers to inform them about our research and our programs
- Leverage our unique location in the Southwest to collaborate with local communities and advance the study and care of Latino and Native Americans
